Wildfire saw the shocked expression on their faces and realized they must see his way of learning a language in the same way as the man he learned English from. “It was not what you call a ‘kiss,’ that is how I learn a language. It is so I can understand you!” He smiled at them, hoping they would understand and accept what he did.

While gaping at their acquaintance they mull over all the possible reasons why he would have done such a bizarre thing. Más and Menos are knowledgeable in many cultural customs of the world. It’s normal to kiss people on the cheek as a greeting, though only people back at home ever did that and not here in the United States. Isn’t mouth kissing for lovers? If there’s anything Más and Menos are sure of, it’s that they don’t see Wildfire in a romantic light. 

The twins are relieved to hear the truth behind Ryand’r’s actions, but are still inarticulate. They continue to stare at him, albeit with a less shocked expression on their faces.

Wildfire looked at the strange humans and tried to piece together what they were saying, but to no avail. He realized they must be speaking another language, so he decided he should learn it the same way he learned English. He grabbed one of them at random and pressed his lips to their’s. “Hello, I’m Wildfire! If you’ll repeat what you said, I should be able to understand you now.”
